My Birthday

Monday was my birthday and I have to say it was totally fun and relaxing. Just the way a birthday should be.

Here are some of the ways I celebrated:
  • -- Didn't go to work (very important!)
  • -- Slept in
  • -- Read birthday cards
  • -- Met friends Jim, Kristina and Elena for ice cream (my favorite food!)
  • -- Shopping - bought new clothes and shoes (spent some money that came in the cards)
  • -- Lovely dinner at Romano's Macaroni Grill in Lynnwood
Thanks to those who sent birthday cards. I got a really beautiful selection of cards this year including some funny ones. One of my favorites had this great quote:
"Birthdays are like chocolates ... you never want to admit how many you've had!"
Amen to that. :)

Of course one of my favorite things in the world is spending time with good friends so I loved hanging out for a bit with Jim, Kristina and Elena. Thanks guys for making my birthday special!

Here is a little slideshow of Elena eating her ice cream. If you would like see a super short movie of her "riding the ponies" head on over to Cozzie's Clippings. Yes, that's a pony she's holding. Maybe you've figured out that Elena likes ponies!

Clay's Birthday

On Sunday the 1st of October Clay turned 54. That's 54 years young if you ask me, but Clay might put it another way.

For months Clay has been anticipating a birthday dinner at his choice - the New York Cheesecake Factory in downtown Seattle. But we got there about 5:30 and the line was out the door. Wait time was 25 to 40 minutes. Rather than waiting that long we decided to have dinner at PF Chang's which is just as nice and there was no waiting! We had a wonderful meal and came home with enough leftovers to feed us dinner tonight as well. We will get back to the Cheesecake Factory sometime soon, picking a less popular time to dine.

In addition to the dinner Clay got a carrot cake for his birthday and of course his favorite flavor of ice cream - vanilla.

The birthday gift is on its way and should be here in the next day or so - a spiffy new digital camcorder. Maybe if I'm really good Clay will let me play with it when he's not using it. :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CLAY!!

Happy 18th, Charlie!

Today is my nephew Charlie's birthday. He's 18 years old! What a milestone. Yesterday we celebrated with a fun family get together.

There were balloons, cake (chocolate with cream cheese filling!) and ice cream, pizza, gifts, and lots of general mugging for photos. We were even treated to a visit by DJ, Charlie's brother who now lives in Portland.

You can see more pics from the occasion by clicking on Charlie's cake.

Birthday

Well, I can't stall it any longer. My birthday has arrived. And so have a bunch of cards and birthday wishes from friends and family. These are just a few of the goodies that made it to my mailbox. I'm lucky to have so many wonderful people to help me celebrate.

This evening I'm looking forward to a nice dinner with Clay at one of our favorite restaurants, Bahama Breeze. My tastebuds are doing a happy dance already!
